Game of Thrones tiene más nominaciones que cualquier otra producción, al alcanzar este año 22. Saturday Night Live y Westworld llegaron muy cerca al obtener 21 nominaciones. Sandra Oh, quien interpreta a Eve Polastri, una oficial del MI5 en la serie Killing Eve, es la primera mujer asiática en ser nominada al Emmy como actriz principal en una serie dramática. John Legend podría ser el próximo en conseguir el EGOT, el cantante ya ha ganado Oscar , Grammy y Tony, y con el Emmy completaría los grandes galardones que concentran lo mejor de la música, el teatro, el cine y la televisión. Y se uniría a un selecto grupo de solo 12 artistas que lo han logrado. Entre ellos Rita Moreno, Helen Hayes, Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, Marvin Hamlisch, Mel Brooks, Richard Rodgers, John Gielgud, Jonathan Tunick, Mike Nichols, Scott Rudin y Robert Lopez. Legend tiene una nominación en la categoría de Actor principal en una serie limitada o película de televisión por su papel en el Concierto en vivo de Jesucristo Superstar de la NBC. La plataforma de streaming Netflix obtuvo la máxima cantidad de nominaciones con 112, seguida de HBO con 108 y NBC con 78. Un mes después de la muerte de Anthony Bourdain, su programa Parts Unknown de la cadena CNN, obtuvo seis nominaciones al Emmy. Families that couldn’t overcome their frustrations and shortcomings and ended up hurting and damaging each other…and also Families that stuck together and protected each other when life was throwing punches at them from all angles. The one thing I can attest for sure after having had the the privilege of portraying Gianni Versace, is that “family was everything” for him.
